The story of :vorWien is one shaped by coincidence, community and a strong belief in timing. After running the Alte Weberei / unkul on the Stralau peninsula from 2002 to 2007 as a vibrant temporary space for club culture, beer garden life, art and music, it was time to let go and move on. What followed was a search for something smaller, more intimate — and then fate stepped in. The two founders had first met at a party at :vorWien back in 2007. Just a year later, in 2008, that very bar was unexpectedly offered to them through their drinks supplier. It felt inevitable. A place that had already brought them together now became their own.
