The Why

Bars are more than places to drink.

They’re where conversations get deeper, ideas are born, strangers become friends — and nights turn into stories that stay longer than the hangover.

BARS OF ___ was created to capture exactly that feeling.

Not the staged version of nightlife, but the real moments in between: the last round, the closed shutters, the walk home, the people you didn’t plan to meet.

How BARS OF ___ Started - a SLideshow

I grew up around clothing.

Before I was born, my mother worked as a seamstress and often told stories about her time working in Paris. Even after she changed careers, sewing was always part of our home.

When I finished school, I already had the idea of starting a clothing brand. But I didn’t study fashion — I thought it wasn’t a realistic path.

Instead I studied business and later moved to Berlin, where I eventually spent several years working in tech sales.

The job paid well, but the creative side was always missing.

2025 the startup I worked for had to let people go. For the first time in years I had the space to think about what I actually enjoyed.

The answer was simple:

design, clothing, meeting people — and spending time in bars.

One evening the idea appeared:

What if bars could offer their own merchandise without any financial risk?

I started reaching out to bars, testing designs and building the first mockups.

Friends helped review early ideas, joined the first bar tours and gave feedback on designs and posts.

And some bar owners believed in the concept when there were only a few mockups and a very simple website.

Today the first bars are live and new collaborations keep growing.

BARS OF ___ is still at the beginning — but the idea is simple:

Celebrate bars, the people behind them, and the clothes we wear when we meet there.

Bars Are our Culture

Bars are some of the last places where people still meet in real life without being forced to.

They give us space, atmosphere, memories — and community.

BARS OF ___ exists to give something back.

We work together with the bars that inspire our collections and give bar owners the opportunity to offer:

- high-quality merch
- sustainably produced
- without upfront investment

Streetwear that represents their place — without financial risk.

Made Only When It’s Needed

Fast fashion produces first and asks questions later.

We do the opposite.

BARS OF ___ only produces what is actually ordered.

No stockpiles. No overproduction. No waste for the sake of availability.

Every piece is printed and shipped on demand —

not more, not less.

Because the most sustainable product is the one that didn’t have to be thrown away.

Limited, But Thought Through

Most of our collections are limited to 100 pieces per design.

But not in the usual way.

We don’t define how many pieces per size exist - you do:

We count the total number of pieces ordered per design.

That way:

- the right sizes get produced
- nothing unnecessary is made
- no one is stuck with the wrong fit

Limited, but flexible — just like real life.

When sold out becomes an event

Some collections don’t end when they sell out.
They turn into a moment.

Once a design reaches its limit, pieces return to the bar they were inspired by — for one night.

Each item is finished on site,
numbered from 1/100 to 100/100
and labeled BARS OF ___ × Bar Name.

No mass production.
No anonymous drops.

Just the place, the people —
and a collection that belongs there.

Before a design ever reaches the shop, we test our materials.

We care about:

- thick, durable textiles
- prints that last
- fabrics that don’t lose shape or get holes after a few nights out

Our goal is simple:

You shouldn’t have to be careful with your clothes.

They should age with you — and your stories.

Designed in Berlin.

Made to be worn often.

Giving Back Beyond Clothing

Bars connect people.

But we also know that alcohol comes with responsibility.

That’s why 20% of our yearly profit is donated to good causes like:

- Alcoholics Anonymous
- Berliner Obdachlosenhilfe e.V.
- Supporting refugees

This contribution is shared between BARS OF ___ and the partner bars behind each collection.

Because culture should take responsibility for its impact.
